Volunteer Today!

Volunteering your time and talents is another fun and meaningful way to support the Kentucky Coal Museum. There are many opportunities for volunteers:

  • Tour Guides at the Kentucky Coal Museum lead discussions with groups on diverse aspects of mining history, its future, and the lives of miners.
  • Volunteer Front Desk Clerk meet and greet visitors, direct visitors through the Museum, answer phones, and assist the employees.
  • Museum Collections and Exhibits Volunteer help with collections management and in creating exhibits.
  • Special Events Volunteer help with planning and implementing Museum and Portal events.
  • Gift Shop Assistant help visitors with selections, bag items, and maintain stock.
